MANAGEMENT TEAM

Nitin Sharma
Parivartan is presently headed by Nitin Sharma, who officiates as the Chief Functionary. Nitin is a postgraduate in Forestry Management from the Indian Institute of Forest Management (IIFM), Bhopal with experience in conceptualization, designing and implementation of large-scale development interventions. Having worked with organisations like PRADAN, BASIX, UNICEF, CARE India and Oxfam GB in various capacities, Nitin brings in expertise in developing and implementing project management systems and strategic organisational planning. His work with a diverse range of stakeholders including village institutions, civil society groups, donors, technical support agencies and the government also adds value to the capacity building initiatives of Parivartan.

Amrat Singh
Amrat is a postgraduate in Social Work with more than eight years of experience with various NGOs in fund raising, planning, implementation and monitoring of diverse field based interventions in both rural as well as urban setting. Amrat has been associated with large scale initiatives in enterprise development, business planning and mentoring. He also has considerable experience in conducting research and training programmes, especially for frontline functionaries on Enterprise Management, Micro-finance, Cluster Development, Federation Building, Leadership and PRA for organizations like NIWCYD, Pradeepan, IGSSS, WWF, NSIC and NIESBUD.

ADVISORS

Parivartan’s operations as well as its strategic direction are guided by a panel of advisors who are experts in fields relevant to Parivartan’s domain of work. Our advisors presently are three experts who serve on the senior management team of Sambodhi Research & Communications.

Swapnil Shekhar
Swapnil specializes in Qualitative Research and Participatory Monitoring & Evaluation in which he has also received formal training. During his association with AC Nielsen, he has worked with agencies like WFP, IFAD, World Bank, WHO on participatory studies as well as designing and implementing participatory M&E systems for projects supported by these agencies. He presently serves as the Chief Operating Officer of Sambodhi Research & Communications and advises Parivartan on its research initiatives as well as development of our internal systems and procedures.

Dharmendra
Dharmendra specializes in Capacity Building, Monitoring & Evaluation and Documentation. He has been associated with leading organizations in the development sector in implementation, action research as well as consultancies. These include AKRSP(I), SEWA, IFAD, FAO, IIFM, MP Forest Department and the MP State Biodiversity Board. His work on design and operationalization of Monitoring Systems has been published in leading national and international journals. His interests include people-centric processes and community based monitoring systems. Dharmendra advises Parivartan on its initiatives in Capacity Building and Development Communication.

Kultar Singh
Kultar specializes in Quantitative Research and use of computer softwares for advanced data analyses. He has been associated with organizations such as CARE India, BASICS, PFI and ORG – Centre for Social Research where he has steered large scale quantitative research projects covering a wide gamut of development issues viz. Health & Nutrition, HIV/AIDS, Environment and Rural Development. Kultar is also the author of the book ‘Quantitative Social Research Methods’ published by Sage Publications in 2007. He presently officiates as the Chief Executive Officer of Sambodhi Research & Communications.

FRIENDS OF PARIVARTAN

In addition to the Management Team and the Panel of Advisors, Parivartan’s long term direction and strategic actions are also guided by a panel of eminent persons from across the social and development sector. We call this group ‘Friends of Parivartan’ who meet once every six months to provide critical inputs and invaluable guidance to Parivartan.
